Data & Sources

What we collect, how we collect it, and what we leave alone.

Kenaura works only with publicly available mentions, collected in line with each platform's terms. Here is exactly what that means for your workspace.

Source types

Where Kenaura listens.

  • Review sites

Public reviews and ratings on general and category-specific review platforms.

  • Social platforms

Public posts, replies and comments that mention your brand terms.

  • Forums & communities

Public threads on discussion boards, Q&A sites and community forums.

  • News & blogs

Articles and posts from online news outlets, publications and blogs.

  • App store reviews

Public app reviews where your brand has a listed app.

How data is collected

Public, attributed and within the rules.

Mentions are collected from publicly accessible content only.

Collection follows each platform's terms of service and available access methods.

Each mention keeps its source, timestamp and original link, so you can always check the context.

Duplicates and reposts are grouped so one story does not inflate your numbers.

Brand terms and exclusions you set decide what counts as a mention of your brand.

What is never collected

  • Private messages, direct messages or closed groups
  • Content behind a login, paywall or privacy setting
  • Content a platform does not permit to be collected
  • Passwords or account access to anyone else's profiles

An honest note on coverage

Coverage is broad across the source types above, but no monitoring platform can guarantee it captures every mention on every platform. Access policies change, and some content is simply not public.

Retention

Kept long enough to compare, not forever.

Mentions are stored for your plan's retention window so baselines, benchmarks and reports have history to work with. After that, they are removed from your workspace.

  • Stored mentions

Text, source, link, timestamp, sentiment and topic, held for your plan's retention window.

  • Reports and exports

Generated reports remain available for download while your workspace is active.

  • Closing an account

When a workspace is closed, its stored mentions and reports are deleted from active systems.

Account security

Access controls for your workspace.

Individual logins

Every team member signs in with their own credentials. No shared accounts.

Role-based access

Control who can change sources, thresholds and recipients, and who can only view.

Encrypted in transit

Traffic between your browser and Kenaura is encrypted with TLS.

Workspace separation

Each workspace, including each agency client, is kept separate from the others.
