Alert & Spike Detection

An alert when it matters, silence when it doesn't.

Kenaura learns what a normal day looks like for each brand and raises an alert only when volume or tone breaks that pattern. You find out about the complaint trend while it is still a handful of posts.

How thresholds work

Measured against your normal, not a fixed number.

Fifty negative mentions is a crisis for one brand and a quiet Tuesday for another. Thresholds are calculated from each brand's own history, then adjusted by the sensitivity you choose.

1

Baseline

Typical volume and sentiment for each hour and weekday, built from the brand's recent history.

2

Deviation

Incoming mentions are compared with the baseline continuously, not in daily batches.

3

Alert

When the gap is large enough for your sensitivity setting, an alert is raised with the mentions behind it.

So the first question, "what is this about?", is already answered.

Configurable sensitivity

Tune it per brand, and per team.

A PR lead might want every early signal. Leadership might want only the serious ones. Sensitivity and routing are set separately, so each person gets the level of noise they asked for.

  • Early signalSmaller deviations, more alerts. Useful for crisis-prone categories and launch weeks.Alerts
  • BalancedThe default. Alerts on clear breaks from baseline without reacting to ordinary busy days.Alerts
  • Serious onlyLarge, sustained deviations. Suited to leadership and client-facing routing.Alerts

Email delivery

Alerts sent to the people and lists you choose.

Team routing

Different recipients per brand and per alert type.

Quiet hours

Hold low-severity alerts overnight, never the serious ones.

Questions

Alerts FAQ

How quickly are alerts raised?

Mentions are evaluated as they arrive. On plans with real-time alerts, an alert is raised as soon as the deviation crosses your threshold. The Starter plan delivers findings in a daily digest instead.

What happens when a brand is new and has no history?

In the first weeks, thresholds rely on shorter history and are deliberately conservative. They sharpen automatically as more data builds up.

Can I stop an alert from repeating?

Yes. Once an alert is acknowledged, related mentions are added to the same alert instead of triggering new ones, until the pattern returns to normal.

Will Kenaura respond to the spike for me?

No. Kenaura tells you what is happening and why. Your team decides whether and how to respond.
